I live in the SF Bay Area. I recently saw a guy with a car trailer hauling a Model S. Looked like Tesla was using him as a private contractor to recover disabled Teslas. Anybody ever heard of such a thing?

White Ford truck with Tesla badges on the doors? I see them pretty regularly here, and when in the Bay. I think it’s for the factory service program, for when a Service Ranger can’t fix it on site. I’ve never seen a brand new one with all the protective wrapping on a flat trailer, those are always on transports. They likely take a loaner out, and bring the broken one in.

Yeah. The rig I saw was a middle-aged Toyota Tacoma. That would be more fun than driving Über.

Exactly what I’ve seen. Sounds like OC saw a previous generation Tacoma though, so maybe not in this case.

What I saw was much less spiffy than that. Made me think it was a private contractor.

Must have been, the Tesla rigs are pretty uniform in appearance.

That is interesting. I see the white Fords with Tesla logos pretty regularly, because there’s a Tesla service center in my town. I’ve never seen a regular rando of a truck towing for them.
